Who We Are
Haddon Heights Good Neighbors, Inc. is a registered non-profit, non-sectarian, all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping the residents of Haddon Heights, NJ and students attending Haddon Heights Borough school who require short-term material assistance. Funding is provided through an annual town-wide appeal and administered through a committee of volunteers. Client referrals come from schools, churches, and individuals. Each case is thoroughly investigated and handled with discretion. Sometimes, those who seek financial assistance one year can be found providing financial assistance the next year. We are simply a group of neighbors helping neighbors.
Incorporated in 1981, Haddon Heights Good Neighbors was founded by Sue Watson, a municipal welfare worker in the borough who noticed there were people with real needs that did not qualify for public assistance. She called upon the community to address the situation and the community responded. Since that time, Haddon Heights Good Neighbors has given over $150,000 in aid to residents in need.
Our Mission
The purpose of HHGN is to aid residents of Haddon Heights Borough, New Jersey, in time of need, by providing appropriate material assistance on a short-term emergency basis.
News...
HHGN is excited to announce the awarding of two $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors of Haddon Heights High School. These financially need-based awards will be offered in the spring of 2025 for the first time and potentially become an annual award. We are looking for students who have demonstrated exemplary character throughout their years at HHHS and have modeled supportive citizenship within their school community. The recipients must have plans to continue their education at an accredited school or program. We will be working in conjunction with the school’s guidance department to find possible candidates to consider and finalize details as the time gets closer.
